Is there a limit on how many people can participate?
Yes, our events have limited spots and may sell out in advance. To stay updated on registration numbers, follow us on social media and sign up for our newsletter.
What happens if an event sells out?
If an event sells out, registrations will not reopen, and you may miss out. We recommend registering as soon as entries open to secure your spot.
What is included in my entry?
Your entry includes a race bag containing a T-shirt to wear on race day, a race number with a timing transponder to record your time, a finisher certificate, and a finisher medal.
Are there awards at this event?
The SHE Triathlon focuses on participation, not competition, so there are no merit awards for winners or fastest age groupers. We use transponder timing and publish everyone’s results online. A fun prize-giving with spot prizes will be held to conclude the event.
When can I collect my race pack?
You can collect your race pack on the Saturday before the event from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM or on race morning from 5:30 AM.
What is a "walk-through"?
On Saturday between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM, experienced triathletes, including Special K alumni, will conduct walk-throughs every half-hour. They’ll explain the swim, share tips, and guide you through the transition area where you rack your bike. They’ll also walk you through the flow from swim to bike and bike to run/walk, answering any questions to help calm last-minute nerves. Walk-throughs are optional and complimentary.
What is transition?
Transition is the area where you switch between swimming, biking, and running/walking. It’s where you store all your triathlon gear, including your bike. On race morning, you’ll be guided to your designated section in the transition area.
How does bike racking work in transition?
Transition has two sections: one for bikes with stands and one for bikes without stands, which are hung on racks. If you have a bike stand, use the stand section for more space.
When do I rack my bike?
Bike racking happens on race morning. There is no bike racking the day before the event.
Can I complete the triathlon in my swimming togs?
Yes, most participants swim in their togs, then head to transition to towel off, put on their SHE Triathlon shirt, dry their feet, and wear socks and shoes if desired. After putting on a helmet and grabbing a sip of water, you’re ready for the bike leg. After cycling, return to transition, rack your bike, remove your helmet, and head to the run/walk leg.
Can I change my togs?
Yes, you can change out of your togs after the swim, but for modesty, please do so under a towel.
How do I use my race number?
Pin your race number to the chest area of your SHE Triathlon shirt, just below the bust line, using the provided safety pins. The race number has a timing transponder on the back, which must not get wet, so do not wear it during the swim.
Can I have supporters in transition?
Supporters are allowed in transition until five minutes before the race starts, after which they must leave. They cannot return until the race is over. Please ensure your supporters follow the marshals’ instructions.
Can I bring dogs to the event?
No, please leave your dogs at home.
What happens after the triathlon?
After the race, we’ll host fun activities and a prize-giving to acknowledge the top three women overall and award handouts and spot prizes.
